Family Bonding at Seal Beach

My whole family had a good time spending our Sunday at the beach-Seal Beach. It was really exciting, exhausting and at the same time challenging. I thought before the beach at Seal Beach is closer to the parking lot... boy, it was far. It feels like I spent 10 minutes from the parking lot on the way to the beach itself, together with our stuff. Then another 12 minutes on the way back to the parking lot from the beach. Again, I learned something new and next time I will make sure to have my cart or trolley with me to load our stuff. The beach is nice and the weather is also perfect.

Post San Francisco Marathon

Had all these photos taken from downtown SF all the way to SF International Airport. Had fun with the concluded race and still hoping to come back next year.

Being back in San Francisco just for a few days really touched my old memories back then. I still remember when I was living in Oakland Bay Area, I used to travel via BART just to get to SF down town to buy some good stuff.

Those memories are always coming back in my head especially when I stepped on the Powell Bart Station. All the old good time memories will always be there. Thanks for reminding me.

San Francisco is a place to shop, play, and find good gimmicks. There is no other place like SF... coz its the BEST city that I may consider that I have been to that is so unique and far better in terms of architecture.

Some of these photos of mine are kinda mixed of different moods of mine while taking the photos. As you have noticed there are some shots that are not perfectly angular to the eyes of the viewer. But, as an artist/photographer, I have the freedom to distort my perspective to look my subjects more meaningful to see.

Yes, I'm going to plant 3 trees this afternoon in our backyard. These trees are purple and pink colors and it also classified as one of the evergreen shrubs that has glossy aromatic foliage and white flowers followed by purple-black oval berries. According to the dictionary, this tree has a scientific name of Myrtus communis, family Myrtaceae (the myrtle family). This family also includes several aromatic plants (clove, allspice) and many characteristic Australian plants (eucalyptus trees, bottlebrushes).

So, even though the weather here in Long Beach is extremely HOT, I'm still going to move on with my project. I'm just hoping that the trees will grow healthier, taller and give more blossoms every year!

My Own Home Garden Depot!

Well, for the past two weeks I've been busy beautifying our yards. There is no exception for being lazy or running out of ideas while on vacation. With these much available time that I have-2 months to be exact my interest was diverted into gardening. I became a slave of Home Depot garden department, by buying lots of black plastic pots, potting soil, fertilizer, and plants like an ornamental plants which I think is a good gesture to start with the gardening project.

I bought different types of plants that blooms, bare fruits including vegetables and herbs. I multiplied those plants that I bought and transfered into the pots. So far out of my boredom I planted at least 100 pots with different types of plant. As you have notice, I might ended up having a mini garden depot-residential version.

I do not know, who knows this hobby of mine will grow some fruits-a potential business in the near future. But for the mean time, I'll just concentrate on my planting and enjoy that I always feel when planted all those plants. Currently, I am still planting and waiting to all of my plant to grow faster so that I can sell it right away. LOL.

Again this is only my hobby and I am really loving it.

This early evening around 6:45 p.m., I decided to mow the grass in our backyard. Guess what? I finished the whole 100 x 100 square feet empty lot! Of course with the use of my lawnmower machine. Whew, no wonder why it's so hard to be a gardener or landscaper. It took me an hour to finish the whole yard. As a result, I promised to my self that I am going to do my best to be good as the other gardeners in our neighborhood.

As I have stated in my other site, my next project would be planting a coconut tree in our backyard. Yes! It's a coconut tree. David, a good friend of mine called me last thursday from Anaheim for a ride. And in return a full grown coconut tree from Trader Joe's. I was so happy having the tree, because it's really reminded me of my childhood back in the Philippines.

At this point in time, I do not have any idea on where am I going to plant it. Any suggestions? FYI, I already have a lemon tree and plum tree.

Plans for the month of July 2009

This month, it would be another busy and hectic schedule. My first priority would be to pass my CSET exam which is scheduled on July 18, Saturday. Then the next top priority is the US constitution exam. Actually I can take the exam anytime but at this time, a schedule for it would be a must. I need those 2 exams to be done by the end of this month in order for me to guarantee that I am be able to hold my position as a Special Education Teacher.
It's really tough to be a teacher at the same time a student. I thought before, once you get done with your schooling you are free to move on to your chosen career. But in my case as a teacher it was not. I need to continue to improve and update my educational skills atleast every year to reach the high paying scale level. Being a teacher has a lot of responsibilities I wear. There are times that I almost gave-up and there are some moments I want to change my career into photography. But I can not do that because of the responsibilities that I have right now. Most especially being a father, husband, confidant, educator, friend and teacher are challenging roles. I need to have a lot of patients, perseverance, courage and most of all enthusiasms.

So far, I would rather, sit back and relax while enjoying my 2 months vacation! Who knows, I might discover something while sitting infront of my computer.

Wow it's been 3 years since the last time I visited my blog site. And for me it feels like I'm already alienated. So hopefully by doing this blog entry, I am be able to regain my embarrassment to myself. And hopefully to those people whore are patiently waiting on when I am going to visit my blog again. This photo is one of the best angles that I have took so far. I look calm, sincere(hehe), innocent (???) and full of love (hehe). Well, try to look at it and tell me what do you think about it? Is in it peaceful and calm? That photo was taken after I ate two servings of Thanksgiving early dinner. So that's the reason why I looked like satisfied and calmed down. To tell you honestly my stomach was really bothering at that time. And thank God to that hammock it really gave me comfort and peace! I think green color really complements the color of my skin and I am starting to like the color of apple green. Hey, by the way I took picture personally using my right hand. Just by trial and error and click and delete concept.

My Thanksgiving at Glendale, Arizona 11.24.2006

Well, It took us 7 hours to drive from Mission Viejo to Glendale, Arizona. All I can say is... tiring, full of adventure, scary, nervous, stressful in some ways, couldn't wait and above all enjoyable and exciting. I am so thankful that Joel, was with me on that trip. Thank God that I was able to convince Joel to go with me. Wow I do appreciate how worthy it was to take a long driving trip with a buddy in the car. Joel, is a good friend of mine, who was been a good navitator and co-pilot to our trip to Glendale all the way to Grand Canyon, Arizona and back to Mission Viejo, California. It was a great experience though, to witness and visit the neighboring state of California, Arizona. It was full of fun and adventure, on the way to Grand Canyon from Glendale, Arizona. We took some pictures and rode into and hour1/2 bus tour to the Western side of the Canyon. I was really impressive. By looking at the with Canyon. You will appreciate so much how how is so artisitic and pwerful! I hope you enjoy some of the photos that I attached in this message.
This photo was taken on Thanksgiving Day and at the same time it was Mom Peggy's 70th birthday. She really enjoyed our company while celebrating her birthday. Also Lia (Mom Peggy's best friend since they met in Guam way on late 80's and or early 90's) graced the ocassion by inviting us all to celebrate Mom Peggy's birthday at her place.

This photo was taken last September 14 after our civil wedding at Quezon City Memorial Hall. I said it was better because it was the first time I kessed my wife infront of my family and friends. It feels good and tastes so sweet and meaningful. Until now I can still feel the sensation and tenderness of it. I could not ask for more than having her in my arms. WOW! It's so sweet. And as a proof here is our wedding rings. She chose that color and design for both of us. It was cute and simple though and it has also full of passion and romance. Actually that rings have story behind it.
I will eloborate more the story next time I revise my text in this post. For the mean time, relax and enjoy my picture and caption surround it. Life Is Beautiful Like a Rainbow In The Sky

Hi my name is Romeo and currently live here in Long Beach, California. I am 35 years old, 5'7" and 150 lbs. I love to travel in different places and watch good movies with my friends and sometimes with my cat Mitts. I spend most of my time in the classroom teaching student with specific learning disability in Math. Why Math? I know some of you will raise your eyebrows, but you know what? I like teaching and am enjoying doing it, most especially when I see my students learn something out from a point. I know teaching is a tough prefession but it doesn't really bother me at all as long as there are kids who are hungry to learn striving to hear and see good benefit of education then I will not stop in teaching. Also, dealing with math everyday, it makes more appreciateive about the real beauty of NUMBERS. I'm sure some of you might did not realize how NUMBERS affect our lives in both ways (positive and negative). I still remember, since I was a kid I always having fun in discoving ways on how to help myself evaluating and solving math problems in a SHORTEST way without forgetting the basic concept of Arithmetic (+, -, * and /).

Back in the 80's, when I was in elementary grade, mathematics and drawing/arts are my favorite subjects other than that were my secondary love. I excelled most of the time in Arts and that was probably the reason I ended up in obtaining an Architecture degree in University of Santo Tomas (one of the oldest catholic universities in Asia) . After obtaining that degree, I realized how hard it was finding an architectural job without devoting my 9-10 hours infront of the drafting board. So I finally decided to think for another career in life. I went to Yap-Federated States of Micronesia, to find my path in life. There I discovered that I have a hidden talent in teaching. My sponsors(Dr. Peggy Paler and Dr. Micheal F. Caldwell) encouraged me to further my education in the field of EDUCATION. After working in Micronesia for 5 years as an Algebra teacher at Yap High School, I decided to apply for a job in the US in Special Education.

After obtaining my masters degree in Special Education last May 2000, from the University of Guam. Last Summer of 2002, I accepted a job offer from Mount Carmel High School-CNMI. As a High School Math teacher in a catholig school, I have a lot of things especially in dealing with students who are alwys there in the class waiting for me to teach them different lesson in math. After a year of teaching at the lone Catholic High School in Saipan, I decided to finally look for more greener pasture in California.

On August 3, 2002 I landed at Oakland International Airport to find a good future in life. After 3 months of seaching for a job in the internet, finally I found one job in the Bay Area. Spectrum Center gave me the opportunity to share my knowledge in Special Education. I taught at Spectrum Center for almost 2 years. Then last Summer of 2004, I accepted a job in Long Beach Unified School District as an SDC-MM-Math teacher.

As I have said in my first statement, I love to teach and am enjoying it so far. At this time I do not have any plans to change my career yet until my dream in life be fulfilled one step at a time.
